Nomos Verlag published the new comprehensive course book “Landesrecht Mecklenburg-Vorpommern” (M-V State Law), which presents the most important parts of constitutional and administrative law in Mecklenburg-Vorpommern that are relevant to legal training, in a clear and systematic manner.
The book covers the core areas of constitutional law, law of administrative organisation, municipal law, police law and building law, also including case law and literature.
Furthermore, it features state-specific issues. The series is aimed at students during their graduate-level studies and in the areas of specialisation, at candidates for state law examination, and at all those working in state law.
This work is part of the series Studienbuch Landesrecht, which covers the typical core subjects of state law (police law, building law and municipal law), often supplemented by contributions on constitutional and commercial administrative law.
The book was edited by experts including Prof. Dr Claus Dieter Classen [de]. Prof. Classen holds the Chair of European and Public International Law and is a judge at the Higher Administrative Court of Mecklenburg-Vorpommern.
Further authors that contributed to the book include the University of Greifswald’s professors (now emeriti) Prof. em. Heinrich Lang [de] (former holder of the Chair of Public Law: Social Law and Public Health Law 2010-2021), Prof. em. Joachim Lege [de] (former holder of the Chair of Public Law: Constitutional History, Philosophy of Law and Theory of State 2003-2023), Prof. em. Maximilian Wallerath [de] (former holder of the Chair of Public Law: Social Law and Administrative Law 1996-2007).
Review: “A book that is particularly useful for law students in Mecklenburg-Vorpommern. However, it is also useful for practitioners who want to quickly familiarise themselves with state-specific matter.” Prof. Dr J. Vahle, DVP 6/14
