Courses

In the field of General Economics, we offer lectures on International Trade, Economic Growth and Business Cycles and Competition. The lectures focus on principles of competitive markets with their advantages and disadvantages, the functioning and the economic impact of international trade, as well as factors and mechanisms that are responsible for long-term growth and business cycles, respectively.

The lecture on Economic Growth and Business Cycles qualifies both for General Economics and Advanced Economics of Growth, Structural Change and Trade. This module also includes lectures in Regional EconomicsDevelopment Economics, and Endogenous Growth and Sustainability. The advanced courses include dynamic development of economies with a particular focus on economic, ecological and export-related aspects. Central themes are differences in economic growth due to socioeconomic factors (Development Economics), regional characteristics (Regional Economics), as well as opportunities and limits of growth (Endogenous Growth and Sustainability).

The lecture Introduction to Economics is aimed at incoming students of Business Administration, Economics, and for students of other faculties. The lecture covers basic economic thinking as well as principles of micro- and macroeconomics.
